St Helen's Church

This 14th century church has a rich history that spans many centuries. You can visit for free and see the amazing historical artifacts it boasts, including a richly ornate rood screen and The Ranworth Antiphoner. If you're feeling fit you can also traverse the winding spiral staircase of the church tower - the panoramic views of the surrounding area are well worth it when you reach the top! 

NWT Conservation Centre

Ranworth is surrounded by natural beauty and wildlife. Take a visit to the NWT Wildlife centre and head down the 750m boardwalk nature trail leading to a floating thatched conservation centre with displays about the history and origin of the Broads, the wealth of Broadland wildlife and how we can protect this fragile wetland world. You can also take boat trips from the centre to do some incredible birdwatching.

St Benet's Abbey

A short drive away you can find the remains of St Benet's Abbey, steeped in history and one of the only abbey's to survive both 9th Century Viking raids and Henry VIII's Dissolution of the Monasteries. You can see the ruins of the old gatehouse, which sports an 18th Century windmill addition, as well as the site of the High Altar.
